Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk flour, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add egg and vanilla extract; mix until smooth.
  5. Gradually mix in dry ingredients until dough forms.
  6. Fold in chopped rose petals gently.
  7. Roll dough into 1-inch balls and flatten slightly.
  8. Bake for 8–10 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
  9. Cool completely before decorating with royal icing.

Notes

Use only food-grade rose petals. Avoid overbaking to preserve the delicate floral flavor.
