  1. Slice oranges into 1/4-inch rounds.
  2. Combine sugar and water in a saucepan; heat until sugar dissolves.
  3. Add slices in a single layer and simmer 45–60 minutes.
  4. Turn slices occasionally until peels appear translucent.
  5. Arrange on a wire rack and dry 24–48 hours.
  6. Roll in sugar or dip in chocolate once fully dried.

Notes
