Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup prepared horseradish drained
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar or lemon juice
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon chopped chives
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon fresh parsley
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • Substitutions: dairy-free sour cream Greek yogurt

Method
 

  1. Gather all ingredients and a mixing bowl; work in a well-ventilated area.
  2. Whisk sour cream and mayonnaise together until smooth.
  3. Fold in the prepared horseradish, adjusting heat level as desired.
  4. Add Dijon mustard, vinegar or lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
  5. Taste and adjust seasoning to preference.
  6. Fold in optional herbs or garlic for added flavor.
  7. Cover and chill for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. Do not freeze, as dairy-based sauces separate when thawed.
