Ingredients

  • 2 cans refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 1/2 pound deli-sliced roast beef
  • 1 cup grated Swiss cheese
  • 1 packet dry onion soup mix
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 cup beef broth

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly spray a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Roll out one crescent roll sheet into the dish, sealing seams to form the bottom layer.
  3. Evenly layer roast beef over the dough, then top with Swiss cheese.
  4. Whisk together onion soup mix, melted butter, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic powder.
  5. Drizzle the sauce evenly over the cheese layer.
  6. Roll out the second crescent roll sheet and place on top, sealing seams.
  7. Bake 15-20 minutes until golden brown and puffed.
  8. Warm beef broth with a splash of Worcestershire for dipping.
  9. Cool 5 minutes before slicing into squares and serving with warm au jus.

Notes

Pressing the dough seams tightly prevents leaks and ensures even baking. Cooling before slicing helps maintain clean layers and avoids cheese overflow.
