Simple Bonbons à la menthe fraîche maison Recipe

These homemade mint bonbons are elegant French candies made with real fresh mint leaves and a crystal-clear sugar syrup that melts in your mouth.

Ingredients
  

  • 50 g fresh mint leaves
  • 150 g granulated sugar
  • 50 ml filtered water
  • Optional green food coloring

Method
 

  1. Rinse mint leaves, remove stems, and pat dry.
  2. Blend mint with a small amount of water into a smooth purée.
  3. Combine sugar and remaining water in a saucepan.
  4. Heat gently until sugar dissolves, then bring to a boil.
  5. Cook for 2 minutes without stirring.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in mint purée.
  7. Optionally strain mixture for a clear finish.
  8. Pour into silicone molds quickly.
  9. Let cool at room temperature briefly.
  10. Refrigerate for 2 hours until firm.
  11. Remove from molds and serve.

Notes

Use fresh mint for best flavor. Do not overcook syrup. Store in airtight container in a dry place to prevent stickiness.
