Method
- Warm a heatproof glass mug by filling it with hot water; discard water after 1 minute.
- Brew 6 oz strong black coffee using a medium or dark roast.
- Pour coffee into the warmed mug and stir in brown sugar until fully dissolved.
- Add Irish whiskey and stir gently.
- Lightly whip heavy cream until thick but pourable.
- Float the cream on top by slowly pouring it over the back of a spoon.
- Sprinkle with nutmeg if desired and serve immediately.
Notes
Do not over-whip the cream—light texture ensures a perfect float. Always use strong coffee to balance the whiskey.
