Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef 85/15 blend
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 12 oz bowtie pasta farfalle
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Chopped parsley for garnish
  • Extra Parmesan for serving
  • Ground turkey chicken, or Italian sausage as substitutes
  • Dairy-free option: coconut cream + nutritional yeast
  • Pasta alternatives: shells mini penne, mezzi rigatoni
  • Broth substitute: chicken or vegetable broth

Method

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and prepare all ingredients.
  2. Brown ground beef in a skillet over medium heat for 6–8 minutes; drain excess fat, leaving 1 tbsp.
  3. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Pour in beef broth, heavy cream, and Italian seasoning; bring to a gentle simmer.
  5. Gradually stir in Parmesan cheese, whisking until smooth and creamy.
  6. Cook bowtie pasta until al dente, reserving 1/2 cup pasta water.
  7. Combine pasta with the beef sauce, adding pasta water as needed for consistency.
  8. Season with salt and pepper, garnish with parsley and extra Parmesan, and serve warm.

Notes

Never let the cream sauce boil—keep it at a gentle simmer to prevent curdling. Add cheese slowly for the smoothest sauce.
