  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup brown sugar packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup granulated sugar for coating
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon for coating

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl.
  3. In a large bowl, beat granulated sugar, brown sugar, and eggs until light and fluffy.
  4. Mix in vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  6. Chill dough for 30 minutes.
  7. Mix cinnamon and sugar for coating in a small bowl.
  8. Roll dough into 1-inch balls and coat generously in cinnamon sugar.
  9. Place cookies 2 inches apart on baking sheet.
  10. Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are set and tops are crinkled.
  11. Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.

Notes

Do not overbake. Cookies should remain soft in the center. Chilling the dough is essential for achieving the signature crinkle texture.
