Method
- Preheat oven to 375°F and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Bring sausage to room temperature and shred cheddar cheese if using block cheese.
- In a large bowl, combine sausage, shredded cheddar, and Bisquick. Mix gently with hands until just combined.
- Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to shape mixture into 1-inch balls and roll gently until smooth.
- Place sausage balls on prepared baking sheets, leaving space between each one. Bake for 15–20 minutes, rotating pans halfway through.
- Remove from oven once golden brown and firm. Internal temperature should reach 160°F. Cool for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
Allow sausage to reach room temperature for easier mixing. Avoid overmixing to prevent tough sausage balls. Store baked sausage balls in the fridge for up to 4 days or freeze raw or cooked for longer storage.
