Ingredients
  

  • 4 oz cream cheese Ensure it's at room temperature for easy blending.
  • 4 cups powdered sugar Add gradually until a firm, workable dough forms; you might need up to 5 cups.
  • 1/4 tsp peppermint extract Use a high-quality extract for the best minty flavor.

Method
 

  1. In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth and creamy.
  2. Add the peppermint extract to the cream cheese and mix until well combined.
  3. Gradually add the powdered sugar, one cup at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition. Continue adding until a stiff, workable dough forms. You may not need all 5 cups of sugar.
  4. Roll the dough into small balls (about 1/2-inch to 1-inch in diameter), then flatten them slightly, or press into desired candy molds. You can also add a few drops of food coloring to the dough at this stage for festive colors.
  5. Place the formed mints on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Refrigerate for at least 12 hours, or until the mints are completely firm.

These mints are perfect for parties, holidays, or a simple refreshing treat. For best results, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator. They can be made ahead of time, which makes them ideal for entertaining.
