  • 8 oz sharp white cheddar cheese freshly shredded
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Method
 

  1. Toss shredded white cheddar cheese with cornstarch until evenly coated.
  2. Heat heavy cream in a fondue pot or saucepan over medium-low heat.
  3. Add minced garlic and stir until fragrant.
  4. Gradually add cheese mixture, stirring constantly in a zigzag motion until melted.
  5. Stir in Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and nutmeg.
  6. Season with salt and black pepper.
  7. Keep warm over low heat and serve immediately.

Notes

Use freshly shredded cheese and low heat to prevent clumping and achieve a silky-smooth fondue.
