Ingredients

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 5 cloves garlic minced
  • cup honey
  • ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar or rice vinegar
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes optional
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp cold water
  • Fresh parsley or green onions for garnish

Method

  1. Pat chicken dry and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Sear chicken for 5–6 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  4. Reduce heat to medium and melt butter in the same skillet.
  5. Add garlic and sauté for 30–60 seconds until fragrant.
  6. Stir in honey, soy sauce, vinegar, and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 2–3 minutes.
  7. Return chicken to skillet and spoon sauce over top.
  8. Simmer 5–7 minutes until chicken is coated and heated through.
  9. Optional: Stir in cornstarch slurry and cook until sauce thickens.
  10. Rest chicken briefly, garnish, and serve.

Notes

For best results, pound chicken breasts to even thickness and avoid burning the garlic. Serve with rice or steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
