Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup raisins soaked and drained
  • 4 tbsp softened butter

Method
 

  1. Dissolve sugar in warm water, sprinkle yeast on top, and let bloom until foamy.
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. Add yeast mixture and butter to dry ingredients and mix into a dough.
  4. Knead dough until smooth and elastic.
  5. Fold soaked raisins evenly into the dough.
  6. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise until doubled.
  7. Shape dough into a loaf and place in a greased loaf pan.
  8. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30–35 minutes until golden.
  9. Cool before slicing and serving.

Notes

Soaking the raisins helps keep the bread moist and prevents dryness.
