Ingredients
  

  • 2 large onions sliced into 1/4-inch rings
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 cups panko breadcrumbs
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Method
 

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pot or fryer to 350°F.
  2. Slice onions into uniform rings and separate carefully.
  3. Mix flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper in a bowl.
  4. Place buttermilk in a separate bowl.
  5. Dip onion rings into buttermilk, then flour mixture.
  6. Dip again into buttermilk, then coat with panko breadcrumbs.
  7. Fry onion rings in batches for 2–3 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Remove with slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  9. Serve immediately while hot and crispy.
