Ingredients

  • 1 lb crab meat fresh, canned, or imitation
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 2 green onions finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg beaten

Method

  1. In a large bowl, mix crab meat, cream cheese, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, green onions, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  2. Shape the mixture into bite-sized balls or small patties.
  3. Dip each piece into the beaten egg, then roll in breadcrumbs until evenly coated.
  4. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  5. Cook crab crunchies for 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  7. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

Drain crab meat well before mixing to prevent soggy texture. Freezing shaped balls for 10 minutes before coating helps them hold together during cooking.
