Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound ground beef 80/20
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce or tamari
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 green onions chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups cooked rice
  • Optional: bell peppers carrots, broccoli, spinach
  • Optional: fried egg
  • Optional: sesame seeds
  • Optional: sliced cucumber
  • Optional: kimchi
  • Optional: pickled vegetables

Method
 

  1. Rinse and cook rice using stove, rice cooker, or Instant Pot method.
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and brown the ground beef until fully cooked.
  3. Drain excess fat and add minced garlic and ginger; cook until fragrant.
  4. Stir in soy sauce, sesame oil, and green onions; season with salt and pepper and simmer 2-3 minutes.
  5. Assemble bowls by adding rice, topping with Korean beef, and adding vegetables or toppings of choice.
  6. Garnish with green onions, sesame seeds, kimchi, or a fried egg.

Notes

Avoid overcrowding the pan, don’t stir too often, drain excess fat, and always serve over hot rice for best absorption.
