Ingredients
  

  • cups warm water 110°F
  • teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter softened
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh basil chopped (optional)

Method
 

  1. Combine warm water, yeast, and sugar and let sit until foamy.
  2. Mix yeast mixture with flour, butter, salt, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder.
  3. Knead dough until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place dough in oiled bowl, cover, and let rise until doubled.
  5. Divide dough into equal pieces and roll into breadsticks.
  6. Place on parchment-lined baking sheet and let rise until puffy.
  7. Bake until golden.
  8. Brush warm breadsticks with melted butter, garlic powder, salt, and herbs.
