Ingredients
Method
- Wash apples thoroughly, remove any wax residue, dry completely, and insert wooden sticks firmly into each apple.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly grease.
- In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, combine sugar, water, corn syrup, and vanilla extract.
- Cook over medium heat until mixture reaches 300°F (hard crack stage).
- Remove from heat and carefully stir in food coloring.
- Quickly dip each apple into the candy mixture, swirling to coat evenly.
- Allow excess candy to drip off and place apples on the prepared baking sheet.
- Melt white chocolate and drizzle over apples if using.
- Add winter-themed sprinkles while coating is still tacky.
- Allow apples to cool and harden completely before serving.
Notes
Work quickly once the candy reaches temperature, as it hardens fast. Apples must be completely dry for proper coating adhesion.
