  • 1 lb ground beef 80/20
  • 3 cups cooked white rice
  • 1 can 10.5 oz condensed French onion soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley optional
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Melt butter in a skillet and brown ground beef for 6-8 minutes; drain excess fat.
  3. Add onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper; cook 1 additional minute.
  4. In a bowl, combine beef, cooked rice, French onion soup, and sour cream.
  5. Spread mixture evenly in the baking dish and top with mozzarella cheese.
  6. Bake uncovered for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  7. Rest 5 minutes before serving and garnish with parsley if desired.

Notes

Use day-old rice for best texture, drain excess fat, and allow casserole to rest before slicing.
