Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups warm water 110-115°F
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons active dry yeast
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • Melted butter for brushing

Method

  1. Line a 9×13 baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease with butter.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let proof 2–5 minutes until foamy.
  3. Add oil, salt, egg, and flour (one cup at a time). Knead with dough hook for 4 minutes until soft and slightly sticky.
  4. Divide into 15 equal portions and shape into smooth balls. Arrange in the prepared pan.
  5. Cover with a towel and let rise while preheating oven to 375°F (30–40 minutes until doubled).
  6. Bake 20 minutes until golden brown and internal temperature reaches 190°F.
  7. Brush immediately with melted butter and serve warm.

Notes

Avoid over-flouring to maintain soft texture. Dough should feel slightly sticky. Let rolls rest after baking before serving for best texture.
