- (Optional) Sear chicken in olive oil 2-3 minutes per side until golden. Transfer to slow cooker.
- Whisk together cream of chicken soup, ranch mix, broth, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper in slow cooker.
- Place chicken in sauce, turning to coat. Cook on LOW 6-7 hours (or HIGH 3-4 hours).
- Shred chicken in the slow cooker with two forks once tender.
- Stir in sour cream until smooth and creamy. Add cheddar cheese if desired.
- Garnish with parsley and serve over rice, noodles, or mashed potatoes.
Notes
Serves 6. Always cook on low for best results with cream-based sauces. Add sour cream at the end to prevent curdling. Recipe doubles easily for larger families.
