Ingredients

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts (about 2 lbs)
  • 1 packet dry ranch seasoning mix 1 oz
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup 10.5 oz
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • ½ cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil optional, for searing
  • Optional: 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Optional: fresh parsley chopped

Method

  1. (Optional) Sear chicken in olive oil 2-3 minutes per side until golden. Transfer to slow cooker.
  2. Whisk together cream of chicken soup, ranch mix, broth, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper in slow cooker.
  3. Place chicken in sauce, turning to coat. Cook on LOW 6-7 hours (or HIGH 3-4 hours).
  4. Shred chicken in the slow cooker with two forks once tender.
  5. Stir in sour cream until smooth and creamy. Add cheddar cheese if desired.
  6. Garnish with parsley and serve over rice, noodles, or mashed potatoes.

Notes

Serves 6. Always cook on low for best results with cream-based sauces. Add sour cream at the end to prevent curdling. Recipe doubles easily for larger families.
