  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp dried oregano
  • 1 tbsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 lb deli-sliced salami
  • 1/2 lb deli-sliced ham
  • 1/2 lb deli-sliced pepperoni
  • 1/2 lb deli-sliced mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 lb deli-sliced provolone cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup roasted red peppers sliced
  • 1/4 cup sliced black olives
  • 1/4 cup banana peppers sliced
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Slice Italian sub rolls lengthwise without cutting all the way through.
  3. Place rolls cut-side up on a baking sheet.
  4. Mix melted butter with garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, basil, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper.
  5. Brush seasoned butter generously over the cut sides of the rolls.
  6. Layer salami, ham, and pepperoni evenly onto the rolls.
  7. Add mozzarella, provolone, and Parmesan cheese on top of the meats.
  8. Top with roasted red peppers, black olives, banana peppers, and fresh basil.
  9. Bake for 10–12 minutes until cheese is melted and bread is lightly golden.
  10. Cool briefly, slice, and serve warm.

Notes

Use sturdy bakery-style rolls to prevent sogginess. These sandwiches are best enjoyed fresh from the oven while the cheese is hot and melty.
