Ingredients

Dough Ingredients
  • 432 g cake mix any flavor (lemon, chocolate, strawberry, etc.)
  • 236 ml Cool Whip thawed, for lightness and moisture
  • 50 g large egg at room temperature for better emulsification
Optional Topping
  • 30 g powdered sugar for rolling, creates a nice crinkle effect

Equipment

  • Baking Sheet
  • Parchment Paper or Silicone Baking Mat
  • Large bowl
  • Spoon or Cookie Scoop
  • Wire Rack

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat to prevent sticking.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, thawed Cool Whip, and the large egg. Stir until all ingredients are well incorporated and a sticky dough forms. For easier handling, you may chill the dough for 15–20 minutes.
  3. Using a spoon or a cookie scoop, form tablespoon-sized balls of dough. If desired, roll each ball in powdered sugar to create a beautiful crinkle effect on the baked cookies.
  4. Place the dough balls approximately 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly set and the centers remain slightly soft.
  5. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking pan for 5 minutes before carefully transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. This helps them firm up without breaking.

Notes

These cookies are incredibly versatile! Feel free to experiment with different cake mix flavors and even add a few drops of extract to complement your chosen flavor. They store well in an airtight container at room temperature for several days.
