Method
- Chill a large pitcher (at least 2 quarts capacity) for 30 minutes before mixing.
- Pour the pineapple juice and unsweetened coconut water into the pitcher.
- Add the cream of coconut and whisk or stir vigorously for 30–45 seconds until fully combined.
- Stir in the fresh lime juice, tasting and adjusting for your preferred balance of sweetness and tang.
- If desired, add non-alcoholic rum for authentic piña colada flavor.
- Stir again thoroughly to integrate all ingredients evenly.
- Serve over ice in individual glasses and garnish with lime wheels, pineapple wedges, or cherries.
Notes
Serve immediately for the best texture and flavor. For parties, prepare the base up to 24 hours ahead and refrigerate. Stir before serving. Always use cream of coconut (not coconut cream) for proper sweetness and texture.
