Method
- Prepare angel food cake according to package directions and allow to cool completely.
- Cut cooled cake into 1½-inch cubes.
- Mix sugar and cinnamon together in a large bowl.
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat, filling about ¼ inch up the pan.
- Fry cake cubes in batches until golden brown on all sides.
- Immediately toss hot cubes in cinnamon sugar mixture until fully coated.
- Serve warm with dipping sauce if desired.
