Ingredients

  • cups all-purpose flour 210g
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup 1 stick unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
  • 1 cup granulated sugar 200g
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk 240ml
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup red and green sprinkles jimmies style
  • Optional: 1 tbsp coarse sugar for topping
  • Additional sprinkles for garnish

Method

  1. Preheat oven: Heat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9×5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper.
  2. Mix dry ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until evenly combined.
  3. Combine wet ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk melted butter and sugar until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla and buttermilk.
  4. Combine wet and dry: Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined—do not overmix.
  5. Add sprinkles: Gently fold in red and green sprinkles using a spatula.
  6. Transfer and bake: Pour batter into prepared loaf pan, smooth the top, and sprinkle with coarse sugar or extra sprinkles if desired. Bake for 45–55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Cool: Let bread cool in the pan for 10–15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

Notes

Use jimmies-style sprinkles to avoid color bleeding. Don’t overmix the batter—stop when ingredients are just combined for the best texture. To make ahead, store tightly wrapped at room temperature for 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Great for gifting or serving at holiday brunch!
