Method
- Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
- Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add egg, vanilla, and almond extract and mix well.
- Gradually mix in dry ingredients until dough forms.
- Chill dough for at least 1 hour.
- Roll dough to ¼-inch thickness and cut shapes.
- Bake at 350°F (180°C) for 8–10 minutes. Cool completely.
- Prepare royal icing by beating powdered sugar, meringue powder, and water until smooth.
- Color icing, decorate cookies, and allow to dry overnight.
