Ingredients

  • 900 g chicken wings
  • 15 g baking powder
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.5 tsp paprika
  • 15 ml olive oil or avocado oil
  • 120 ml buffalo sauce or sauce of choice

Equipment

  • Air Fryer

Method

  1. Start by prepping your wings. If you bought whole wings, you’ll want to separate them into drumettes and flats. Pat them completely dry with paper towels.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the baking powder, kosher salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
  3. Sprinkle the dry mixture over the wings, then drizzle with the tablespoon of oil. Toss everything together until every wing piece is evenly coated.
  4. Preheat your air fryer to 200°C (400°F) for about 3 minutes. Arrange the wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
  5. Air fry the wings for 12 minutes. After this first round, flip each wing to ensure even cooking and browning.
  6. Continue cooking for another 10-13 minutes until the skin is deep golden brown and crispy, with an internal temperature of 74°C (165°F).
  7. Once cooked, transfer the hot wings to a bowl and pour your preferred sauce over them, tossing to coat.
  8. Serve right away while they’re still audibly sizzling and crisp.

Notes

Feel free to experiment with different sauces for your wings, such as BBQ or teriyaki, to suit your taste.
