  • Total Time: 25-30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

This baked swordfish recipe combines a simple blend of olive oil, lemon, garlic, and herbs to create a flavorful, moist, and tender fish dish that’s perfect for any occasion. With a quick prep and bake time, it’s an ideal choice for busy weeknights or special dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 swordfish fillets (6 oz each)

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (freshly squeezed)

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

  • ½ teaspoon paprika (or smoked paprika)

  • ¼ teaspoon dried oregano

  • ¼ teaspoon dried thyme

  • Salt and black pepper (to taste)

  • Fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)

  • Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

  • Prepare the Swordfish: Pat the swordfish fillets dry with paper towels. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  • Season the Fish: In a small bowl, combine olive oil, lemon juice, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, oregano, thyme, salt, and pepper. Drizzle this mixture over the swordfish fillets, ensuring each fillet is evenly coated.

  • Bake the Swordfish: Bake the swordfish fillets for 15-20 minutes, or until the fish is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.

  • Garnish and Serve: Garnish the baked swordfish with freshly chopped parsley and serve with lemon wedges on the side.

Notes

  • For a healthier option, swap olive oil for avocado oil.

  • Feel free to substitute fresh herbs like rosemary or basil for oregano and thyme.

  • Swordfish can be served with roasted vegetables or a light salad for a balanced meal.
