For the Cake:
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 eggs
- ½ cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 ½ tsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp salt
For the Creamy Filling:
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp heavy cream
For the Coating & Stripes:
- 8 oz white chocolate, melted
- 4 oz semi-sweet chocolate, melted (for stripes)
Instructions
Prepare the Cake:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch pan.
- In a bowl, cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla, mixing well.
- Sift in flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add milk and mix until smooth.
- Pour batter into the pan and bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let cool completely before cutting into small rectangles or circles.
Make the Filling:
- Beat butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and heavy cream until light and fluffy.
- Spread a thin layer onto half of the cake pieces and sandwich with another piece.
Coat with White Chocolate:
- Dip each sandwich in melted white chocolate, covering completely.
- Place on a wire rack and allow excess chocolate to drip off.
Add Zebra Stripes:
- Drizzle melted semi-sweet chocolate over the top in a zigzag pattern.
- Let the chocolate set before serving.
Notes
- For a fluffier filling, use marshmallow fluff instead of buttercream.
- Chill cakes before dipping in chocolate for better coating.
- Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
