Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, just softened
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ⅓ cup granulated sugar (for coating)
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon (for coating)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). In a bowl, whisk together flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt.
  2. Cream butter and sugar with a mixer for 2-5 minutes until light and fluffy. Scrape bowl as needed.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  5. Mix cinnamon and sugar in a small bowl. Roll dough into 1-inch balls and coat them twice in cinnamon sugar.
  6. Place on parchment-lined baking sheet 2 inches apart. Bake for 8-10 minutes until edges are set. Cool on baking sheet before transferring to a rack.

Notes
