- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 cup warm water
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix flour, salt, and sugar.
- Add olive oil and warm water and mix until a dough forms.
- Knead dough on a floured surface for 8–10 minutes until smooth.
- Cover dough and let rest for 30–45 minutes.
- Divide dough into 8–10 equal portions.
- Roll each portion into a thin circle or oval.
- Heat a dry skillet over medium heat.
- Cook each flatbread for 1–2 minutes per side until lightly golden.
- Sprinkle with sesame seeds if using and stack under a towel to keep warm.
Notes
Resting the dough makes rolling easier and improves texture. Store cooked lavash covered to keep soft.
