Ingredients
Scale
- 4 medium apples
- 4 wooden sticks or skewers
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup corn syrup
- 1 cup water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon white food coloring
- Edible glitter for decorating
Instructions
- Wash and completely dry the apples, then insert wooden sticks into the tops.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a heavy saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, and water.
- Cook over medium heat until the sugar dissolves, then bring to a boil without stirring.
- Continue cooking until the mixture reaches 300°F (hard crack stage).
- Remove from heat and carefully stir in vanilla extract and white food coloring.
- Dip each apple into the hot candy mixture, turning to coat evenly.
- Allow excess candy to drip off and place apples on parchment paper.

- Let apples cool completely until the candy shell hardens.
Notes
Work quickly once the candy reaches temperature, as it hardens fast. Make sure apples are fully dry for best adhesion.
