Description
This Pumpkin Spice Hot Chocolate combines rich chocolate decadence with warm pumpkin spice aromatics for the perfect fall comfort drink. Ready in just 15 minutes, it’s a café-quality seasonal beverage you can make easily at home.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1½ cups chocolate chips (milk, semisweet, or dark)
- 4 cups whole milk, divided
- ⅓ cup pumpkin puree
- 1½ teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
- 1½ teaspoons vanilla extract (optional)
- ¼ teaspoon salt (optional)
Instructions
- In a saucepan over low heat, melt chocolate chips with ½ cup milk, stirring constantly until smooth.
- Gradually whisk in remaining milk, pumpkin puree, pumpkin pie spice, and salt (if using). Heat gently until steaming, not boiling.
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract if desired. Taste and adjust spice to preference.
- Serve hot in mugs topped with whipped cream, mini marshmallows, or a sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice.
Notes
Do not boil the mixture—keep heat low to avoid separation. Adjust spice gradually to balance flavors. Use oat, almond, or coconut milk for dairy-free versions. Dark chocolate creates a bold taste, while milk chocolate is sweeter. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheat gently with added milk if needed.
