Description
This peach sorbet without an ice cream maker delivers a silky, refreshing frozen dessert using just a blender and freezer – the ultimate summer treat!
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 pounds fresh ripe peaches (approximately 8–10 medium peaches)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2–4 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- Optional: ¾ cup honey, maple syrup, or agave nectar as sugar alternatives
- Optional: lime juice or orange juice as lemon substitutes
- Optional: frozen or canned peaches (in juice, not syrup)
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of water to boil and prepare an ice bath. Score an “X” on each peach, blanch 30–60 seconds, transfer to ice bath, peel, pit, and chop.
- In a blender, combine peach chunks, sugar, and 2 tablespoons lemon juice. Blend until silky smooth (2-3 minutes). Taste and adjust sugar or lemon juice if needed.
- Pour into a shallow 9×13” freezer-safe dish. Cover with plastic wrap pressed against surface. Freeze for 2 hours until edges set.
- Use a fork to break up ice crystals. Return to freezer for another 2 hours.
- Re-blend the semi-frozen mixture until smooth. Return to freezer for 2–4 hours until scoopable.
Notes
For immediate soft-serve, use pre-frozen peaches. Always let sit 5–10 minutes before serving for easier scooping. Use shallow containers and break up ice to ensure smooth texture.
