- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar or honey (optional for sweetness)
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Melt the Butter – In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.
- Sauté Aromatics – Add minced garlic and chopped onion, cooking until fragrant (about 5 minutes).
- Add Spices – Stir in Old Bay, Cajun seasoning, paprika, cayenne, and red pepper flakes. Cook for 1-2 minutes to release flavors.
- Incorporate Broth – Slowly whisk in the broth and bring the mixture to a simmer.
- Finish with Lemon & Herbs – Add lemon juice, parsley, and adjust seasoning to taste.
- Simmer & Serve – Let the sauce simmer for 5-7 minutes until slightly thickened. Serve warm over seafood or as a dipping sauce.
Notes
- Adjust the spice level by increasing or decreasing cayenne and red pepper flakes.
- For a thicker sauce, mix 1 teaspoon cornstarch with water and stir into the sauce.
