- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 ½ cups heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- ½ tsp salt (adjust to taste)
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ¼ tsp nutmeg (optional, for depth of flavor)
- 1 tbsp chopped parsley (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
- Melt butter: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.
- Sauté garlic: Add the minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add cream: Pour in the heavy cream, stirring constantly. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes.
- Incorporate cheese: Slowly stir in the Parmesan cheese, whisking until melted and smooth.
- Season: Add salt, black pepper, and nutmeg (if using). Stir well.
- Simmer & serve: Let the sauce simmer for another 2 minutes, then remove from heat. Serve immediately over pasta or your favorite dish!
Notes
- Use freshly grated Parmesan for the best texture and flavor.
- If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of milk or pasta water to thin it out.
- Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat gently over low heat.
