  • Yield: 2 cups of sauce 1x

Description

This rich and creamy homemade Alfredo sauce is made with butter, garlic, heavy cream, and Parmesan cheese. It’s a quick and easy recipe perfect for pasta, chicken, or as a dipping sauce!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 ½ cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ tsp salt (adjust to taste)
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg (optional, for depth of flavor)
  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  • Melt butter: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.
  • Sauté garlic: Add the minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Add cream: Pour in the heavy cream, stirring constantly. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  • Incorporate cheese: Slowly stir in the Parmesan cheese, whisking until melted and smooth.
  • Season: Add salt, black pepper, and nutmeg (if using). Stir well.
  • Simmer & serve: Let the sauce simmer for another 2 minutes, then remove from heat. Serve immediately over pasta or your favorite dish!

Notes

  • Use freshly grated Parmesan for the best texture and flavor.
  • If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of milk or pasta water to thin it out.
