Description

This Easy Wonton Soup Recipe delivers restaurant-quality flavor in under 30 minutes using store-bought frozen wontons, a savory ginger-garlic broth, and simple pantry ingredients for a comforting, healthier homemade favorite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 teaspoons fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 6 cups chicken broth
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
  • 20 frozen wontons (chicken, pork, shrimp, or vegetable)
  • Chopped scallions, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat sesame oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add grated ginger and minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  3. Pour in chicken broth and water, stirring to combine.
  4. Add soy sauce, rice vinegar, salt, and white pepper.
  5. Bring the broth to a boil.
  6. Gently add frozen wontons and stir lightly to prevent sticking.
  7. Reduce heat and simmer until wontons are tender and floating.
  8. Ladle soup into bowls and garnish with chopped scallions.
  9. Serve hot.

Notes

Use low-sodium broth and soy sauce to control salt levels. Do not overboil to keep wontons tender.
