Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups cooked jasmine rice (day-old preferred)
- 200g sliced beef or chicken
- 2 tablespoons Japanese BBQ sauce
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup mixed vegetables (carrots, bell peppers, peas)
- 2 tablespoons chopped scallions
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Toasted sesame seeds
Instructions
- Heat vegetable oil in a skillet or wok over medium-high heat until shimmering.
- Add sliced beef or chicken and sear 2-3 minutes without stirring; cook another 2 minutes until browned, then remove.
- Add garlic and mixed vegetables to the skillet and stir-fry 2-3 minutes until tender-crisp.
- Push vegetables aside and add beaten eggs; let set 30 seconds, then gently scramble.
- Add cooked rice and break up clumps, mixing well with eggs and vegetables.
- Return protein to skillet and add Japanese BBQ sauce and soy sauce; mix to coat evenly.
- Season with salt and pepper; cook 2-3 minutes until heated through.
- Garnish with scallions and toasted sesame seeds before serving.
Notes
Use day-old rice to avoid mushy texture. Cook protein in a single layer to develop proper sear and flavor.
