Ingredients
Scale
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- ⅓ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8-inch square baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in granulated and brown sugars until smooth.
- Let mixture cool slightly, then beat in eggs one at a time. Stir in vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
- Gradually fold dry ingredients into wet mixture until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Spread batter evenly in the pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes, until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs (not wet batter).
- Cool completely before slicing into squares for fudgy, chewy brownies.
Notes
Use high-quality cocoa powder for deeper flavor and avoid overbaking to keep brownies moist. For a gluten-free version, use a 1:1 GF flour blend.
