Grilled Steak & Shrimp Kabobs

  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Description

Grilled Steak & Shrimp Kabobs offer a perfect balance of tender steak and succulent shrimp, all enhanced with vibrant vegetables and a flavorful marinade. This easy-to-make recipe is perfect for any BBQ or family dinner, providing a tasty and nutritious meal that’s sure to impress.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Steak (ribeye, sirloin, or tenderloin, cut into 1-inch cubes)

  • 1 lb Shrimp (peeled, deveined, and tails on)

  • 2 Bell Peppers (any color, cut into chunks)

  • 1 Medium Red Onion (cut into chunks)

  • 1 Medium Zucchini (sliced into chunks)

  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil

  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder

  • 1 tsp Paprika

  • 2 tbsp Lemon Juice

  • Salt & Pepper (to taste)

  • Fresh Parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Ingredients:
Cut the steak into 1-inch cubes, peel and devein the shrimp, and slice the bell peppers, onion, and zucchini into similarly sized pieces.

  2. Marinate the Steak & Shrimp:
In a large bowl, combine olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Add the steak cubes and shrimp to the marinade, and toss gently to coat. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes (or up to 1 hour for maximum flavor).

  3. Skewer the Ingredients:
Thread the steak, shrimp, and vegetables onto skewers, alternating each item to allow the flavors to meld during grilling.

  4. Preheat the Grill:
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 400°F/200°C). Lightly oil the grill grates to prevent sticking.

  5. Grill the Kabobs:
Place the skewers on the grill and cook for about 2-3 minutes per side. Aim for a medium-rare doneness for the steak and fully cooked shrimp (opaque and pink).

  6. Serve:
Once grilled to your desired level, remove the skewers and let them rest for a couple of minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with your favorite sides.

Notes

  • Substitutions:

    • Swap steak for leaner cuts such as flank steak for a lower-fat option.

    • Use firm tofu or portobello mushrooms for a vegetarian version.

  • Storage:

    • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days in the fridge or freeze for up to 3 months.

  • Grilling Tip:
To avoid overcooking, remove the kabobs as soon as the steak reaches your preferred doneness (use a meat thermometer for accuracy).
