- 4 large boneless chicken breasts
- 1 tbsp olive oil or melted butter
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp Italian Seasoning (or dried oregano, thyme, parsley, rosemary)
- 1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
- 1 tsp salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 450°F (232°C). Let chicken rest at room temperature for 10 minutes before prepping.
- In a small bowl, mix salt, Italian seasoning, black pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
- Pat chicken breasts dry with paper towels. Brush all sides with olive oil or melted butter. Rub seasoning mix over each piece, pressing to coat.
- Place chicken in a single layer on a baking sheet or oven-safe dish. Bake for 18–20 minutes or until internal temp reaches 165°F (75°C). Broil for 2–3 minutes for a golden crust.
- Remove from oven and cover loosely with foil. Rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing. Serve with pan juices and garnish with parsley or lemon zest.
Notes
For extra flavor, marinate up to 24 hours in advance. Substitute olive oil with avocado oil or use chili flakes for heat. Works well with turkey breast or plant-based alternatives too.
