Easy Halloween Deviled Eggs Recipe – Spooktacular Party Appetizer

  • Total Time: 55 minutes
  • Yield: 12 deviled eggs 1x

Description

Spooky Halloween deviled eggs with eerie cracked shells and vibrant fillings – a savory, protein-packed appetizer that’s perfect for Halloween parties.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 large hard-boiled eggs
  • 3 tbsp mayonnaise (or Greek yogurt)
  • 1 tsp yellow mustard (or Dijon)
  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 splash white vinegar (for coloring bath)
  • Food coloring (green, purple, or black)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Paprika, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Boil eggs for 10 minutes, then transfer to an ice bath.
  2. Tap shells gently to crack all over. Submerge in water, vinegar, and food coloring for 10–15 minutes to create a spider-web effect.
  3. Peel eggs and slice in half lengthwise. Remove yolks to a bowl.
  4. Mash yolks until smooth. Add mayo, mustard, apple cider vinegar, salt, and pepper. Mix until creamy.
  5. Spoon or pipe filling into egg white halves.
  6. Sprinkle with paprika and garnish with edible eyes or olive “spiders” for extra spooky flair.

Notes

Don’t soak eggs too long or colors may bleed. Mix yolks thoroughly for smooth filling. Assemble no more than 24 hours before serving for best texture.
