Description
This crock pot buffalo chicken dip is the ultimate game day recipe. With just five simple ingredients and only 15 minutes of hands-on time, it transforms into a creamy, spicy, cheesy appetizer that’s ready in 2 hours. Perfect for parties, tailgates, or whenever comfort food cravings strike.
Ingredients
Scale
- 12.5 oz can chunk chicken breast, drained (or rotisserie, thighs, or turkey)
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened (or Greek cream cheese, cashew cream cheese)
- 4 oz finely grated Colby Jack cheese (or sharp cheddar, pepper jack, mozzarella)
- 1/2 cup buffalo wing sauce (Frank’s RedHot or homemade)
- 1/2 cup ranch dressing (or blue cheese, Greek yogurt ranch)
- Serving accompaniments: tortilla chips, celery, carrots, baguette slices, pretzel chips
Instructions
- Allow cream cheese to reach room temperature. In a 3- or 6-quart crock pot, combine chicken, cream cheese, Colby Jack, buffalo sauce, and ranch dressing. Mix well, breaking up cream cheese chunks.
- Cook on LOW for 1.5–2 hours, stirring every 30 minutes, until smooth and creamy. Larger slow cookers may finish faster.
- Once hot and bubbly with a rich orange color, switch crock pot to WARM for serving. Stir occasionally and enjoy with your favorite dippers.
Notes
Yields about 8 servings. Always soften cream cheese to avoid lumps. Cook on LOW, not HIGH, to prevent greasy separation. Stir every 30 minutes for even texture. Store leftovers in fridge up to 4 days or freeze up to 3 months. Great as a dip, slider filling, or topping for nachos and pizza.
