- 4 large russet potatoes, peeled and cut into ¼-inch strips
- 2 cups vegetable oil for frying
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ cup sour cream
- 1 jalapeño, thinly sliced
- ½ cup guacamole
- ½ cup salsa
- ¼ cup fresh cilantro, chopped
Instructions
- Rinse potato strips under cold water and pat completely dry.
- Heat oil in a large pot to 350°F.
- Mix paprika, cayenne, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- Fry potatoes in batches for 5 minutes until pale golden, then drain.
- Increase oil temperature to 375°F and fry potatoes again for 2–3 minutes until crispy.
- Toss hot fries immediately with spice mixture.
- Spread fries on a serving platter and top with shredded cheddar cheese.
- Add sour cream, guacamole, salsa, and jalapeño slices.
- Garnish with chopped cilantro and serve immediately.
Notes
For best results, season fries while hot and serve immediately for maximum crispiness.
