  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings 1x

Description

A fuss-free, flavorful dinner that captures all the bold, satisfying essence of your favorite burrito—without the roll! Perfect for busy weeknights or feeding a crowd.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (8oz) crescent dough sheet or crescent roll dough
  • 1lb ground beef or ground turkey
  • 1 packet (1oz) taco seasoning
  • 1 can (15oz) refried beans
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (Colby Jack, cheddar, or pepper Jack)
  • Optional toppings: shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, sliced green onions, olives, jalapeños, guacamole, salsa, sour cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Unroll crescent dough into the dish, sealing any seams if needed.
  3. Brown ground beef or turkey over medium heat until fully cooked, about 6–7 minutes, then drain excess fat.
  4. Add taco seasoning, refried beans, and chopped onion to meat mixture. Stir and cook until evenly combined and heated through.
  5. Spread mixture evenly over crescent dough base in the baking dish.
  6. Sprinkle shredded cheese generously over the top.
  7. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until crust is golden and cheese is melted.
  8. Let rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Add desired toppings and serve hot.

Notes

Let dough sit at room temperature for 5 minutes before unrolling for easier handling. Add a splash of water to the meat mixture to keep it moist. Cover edges with foil if they brown too quickly.
