An award winning turkey chili made with lean ground turkey, bold spices, beans, and tomatoes. This healthier chili is packed with protein, rich flavor, and perfect for weeknight dinners or meal prep.

- 1 pound ground turkey
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 (14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes
- 1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
- 1 (15 oz) can kidney beans, rinsed and drained
- 1 (15 oz) can black beans, rinsed and drained
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat.
- Add chopped onion and cook until softened.
- Stir in garlic and cook until fragrant.
- Add ground turkey and cook until browned, breaking it apart.
- Stir in chili powder, cumin, paprika, oregano, cayenne, salt, and pepper.
- Add diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, chicken broth, beans, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce.
- Bring to a gentle simmer.
- Reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Adjust seasoning to taste and stir in fresh cilantro.
- Serve hot with desired toppings.
Notes
This chili tastes even better the next day as flavors continue to develop. Adjust spice levels to preference.
