Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound peeled and deveined large or jumbo shrimp
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 4 to 6 cloves garlic, finely minced
- 1/4 cup dry white wine (or low-sodium chicken broth)
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Pat shrimp dry with paper towels and season with salt and pepper.
- Heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add shrimp in a single layer and cook 2 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
- Reduce heat to medium. Add remaining butter and minced garlic. Sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Deglaze the pan with white wine or broth, scraping browned bits. Simmer 1-2 minutes to reduce.
- Add heavy cream and stir. Simmer gently for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Stir in Parmesan until smooth. Return shrimp to skillet and toss to coat. Warm through 1 minute.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve over pasta, rice, potatoes, or crusty bread.
Notes
Ensure shrimp are dry before cooking to get a proper sear. Do not overcook to maintain tender texture.
