Ingredients
Scale
- 4 ears of corn (fresh or frozen)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese (or any cheese of your choice)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh herbs for garnish (optional: parsley, cilantro, or basil)
Instructions
- Cook the Corn:
- Boiling: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the corn and cook for 7-10 minutes, or until tender. Remove and set aside.
- Grilling: Preheat the grill to medium-high. Grill the corn for 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until lightly charred and tender.
- Roasting: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Roast the corn directly on the rack for 25-30 minutes, turning halfway through, until tender and slightly golden.
- Make the Garlic Butter:
In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Stir in salt and pepper to taste. Remove from heat. - Prepare the Corn:
Brush the hot corn with the garlic butter mixture, making sure to coat it generously on all sides. Sprinkle the corn with freshly grated parmesan cheese (or cheese of choice), allowing it to melt into the butter. - Garnish and Serve:
If desired, sprinkle the corn with chopped fresh herbs like parsley or cilantro for added flavor and color. Serve hot, and enjoy!
Notes
- For a spicier version, add a pinch of red pepper flakes or smoked paprika to the garlic butter.
- You can use any type of cheese—cheddar, mozzarella, or cotija are excellent choices!
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2-3 days. Reheat by microwaving, grilling, or baking in the oven.
