Description
A trendy and refreshing coffee drink made with freshly brewed espresso, brown sugar syrup, and ice, shaken to perfection for a frothy, sweet treat. Ideal for coffee lovers looking to elevate their iced coffee experience.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 ounces freshly brewed espresso (or strong coffee)
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar syrup (see instructions below for how to make)
- Ice (enough to fill your shaker and glass)
- 2–4 ounces milk (optional, choose your preference: dairy, almond, oat, or soy milk)
Instructions
- Brew the Espresso
Start by brewing 2 ounces of espresso using an espresso machine, French press, or any coffee maker that produces strong coffee. You can also use a stovetop espresso maker. - Make the Brown Sugar Syrup
In a small saucepan, combine 1/4 cup of brown sugar with 1/4 cup of hot water. Stir over medium heat until the sugar dissolves. Let it cool, then store in a jar for future use. - Shake the Espresso
Pour the hot espresso and 2 tablespoons of brown sugar syrup into a cocktail shaker. Add a generous amount of ice. Close the shaker tightly and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds until frothy. - Serve
Fill a glass with fresh ice and strain the shaken espresso into the glass. If desired, add milk for a creamier version. - Optional Garnish
Top with a pinch of cinnamon or a drizzle of caramel for extra flavor.
Notes
- You can adjust the sweetness by adding more or less brown sugar syrup.
- If you don’t have a cocktail shaker, a mason jar or any airtight container will work just fine.
- Brown sugar syrup can be made in advance and stored in the fridge for up to a week
